Is Et Voilà suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Et Voilà is designed for people who have never painted before or haven’t picked up a brush since school.
The kits, tutorials and workshops guide you through each stage, from activating your colours and controlling your brush to completing your artwork. You don’t need any previous watercolour experience to begin.
What if I can’t draw?
You don’t need to know how to draw. Et Voilà kits and workshops include pre-sketched templates, so you can start with the enjoyable part: painting.
You can follow the outlines as closely or as freely as you like. As your confidence grows, you may even feel inspired to create your own drawings.
What if I’m not creative?
You don’t need to feel creative to start. I’ll guide you with simple steps and a small colour palette, so you can experiment, build confidence and paint in your own way.
What if I don’t know how to mix watercolour?
You’ll learn how much water to add to your paint with my easy “tea, coffee and cream” method.
The colours in your Et Voilà kit have also been carefully selected to work well together, making colour mixing easier for beginners.
Will I complete an artwork during Sip & Paint or Pause Café?
Yes. Sip & Paint and Pause Café are shorter, beginner-friendly painting experiences designed around one achievable artwork.
You’ll receive a pre-sketched template, all the materials you need and step-by-step guidance from Pascale. You’ll practise a few simple techniques before painting your final piece, and you’ll leave with an artwork you created yourself.
Is a short workshop enough if I have never painted before?
Yes. You don’t need to understand every watercolour technique before creating your first artwork.
During the session, we focus only on the techniques needed for that particular painting. If you would like to explore brush control, colour mixing and other techniques in greater depth, the five-hour Introduction to Watercolour workshop is the best next step.
